Color Champion, 2026 TXOLAN Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Gray/Roan Female Championship (21)(Jacob Hart) Judge’s comments: “I really do want to recognize the frame here. The conformational attributes with that chest, maintaining towards the rump. Solid substance of bone to her. Really, it’s the size here and the capacity that earned her the championship today. She’s maintaining a long stapling fleece. Very soft. Very fine overall.”

1st Place, 2026 TXOLAN Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Gray Yearling Female (8)(Jacob Hart) Judge’s comments: “This certainly was a very competitive class. I really do want to recognize the conformation & fleece attributes. Starting as the most complete, is first place. She really has a very beautiful phenotype to her. As far as grey Huacaya females go, this is really what you want to see. She has width to the chest, throughout towards the pelvis. Straight top line. Strong angulation within the front & rear leg sets along even and balanced proportions. As I view her fleece, she’s not only maintaining a very fine fleece, but a long stapling fleece. Her tight crimp structure is very consistent from skin to tip. As I view the brightness, I really do want to recognize the overall consistency here."
1st Place, 2026 NWSS: Halter, Huacaya Grey Yearling Female (Jacob Hart) (Judge's Comments: "Starting with her conformation, she’s looking extremely overall, quite well put together. A straight top line, strong substance of bone, and an even balance & proportions to her. She’s exhibiting a great spring of rib, & capacity throughout her entire frame which is extremely important within these females approaching maturity & approaching breeding age. As I view her fleece, she just continues to add on even more positive points. She’s maintaining a long fleece structure. Very tight crimp structure expressed across the entire length of that long staple, and she’s showing very minimal variation between the shoulder and the mid side, and the rump. As I take a look at the sample on my sleeve, between the white and the dark and brown and black fibers, very minimal variation between those finer and stronger fibers.")
2nd Place, 2026 TXOLAN Bluebonnet Stakes: Halter, Huacaya Gray Yearling Female (6)(Kevin O’Leary) Judge’s comments: “This was a very interesting class to judge. Part of it was some of the finest animals were so sweaty that they weren’t expressing their architecture of their fleece correctly. There was not a big variation on fineness between this whole group. They were all relatively fine. I think that 2nd Place got a little bit of hurt from this humidity here today, because she’s got the density. You look at that head style. It’s telling you that you’re going to find a really dense fleece. Just was not holding that architecture to the staples to her fullest ability today. A real beautiful little girl. The uniformity between the light & the dark fibers was really spot on.”
