Arcata, CA
From their website:
The Natural Fiber Fair is now located in the quaint college town of Arcata, California up the highway from its former location of Redway, CA. September is a beautiful time of year to explore the North Coast. Arcata is a lively arts community bustling with returning college students and the festive farmers market on the town plaza. Fall is the perfect time for fiber artists to think about their winter projects. The Natural Fiber Fair inspires us with new skills and beautiful fibers.
Education is an important aspect of the Natural Fiber Fair. Every hour there are several demos and workshops to choose from. Learn about basket weaving, natural dyeing, spinning, knitting, felting and more! Our vendors offer free demonstrations as well as hands-on workshops with a small materials fee. We have classroom space for longer, more in-depth workshops; pre-registration is encouraged for the in-depth workshops. Along with the fabulous exhibits there is something for everyone.
Natural Fibers are our focus. Vendors from northern California and Oregon bring fiber, tools, books, finished products, and much more. The Fleece Market features locally produced fibers and roving.

What Is an Artist Open Studio Tour? A studio is a place where someone makes art, – it can be a room, garage, or barn – clean or messy, funky or classic. Some artists will be creating art when you visit and others combine studio spaces to share their artwork with the public. This is an opportunity to experience a variety of art from painting to jewelry, from woodwork to pottery. Some of Stanislaus’s hidden gems only open their studio doors for this once-a-year event!
